TibX
A PBX Desktop App
Project Details
Overview: I led the design of a cloud based PBX (Private Branch Exchange_ app that includes multi-party chat, voice, calling, messaging, notifications, groups and departments, roles, contacts, SMS and more. A private branch exchange is a private phone network - basically a telephone system that a large business might have. I was hired by RTC Logic to create the designs for this web app, which they planned to sell to large corporations as a white label internal cloud based PBX. In my samples, TibX represents one of those corporations. My designs had a direct impact on the success of this product launch, and RTC Logic received contracts to white label the product to 10+ companies after their first sales demo presentation.
The Problem: Current mainstream PBX software is clunky and outdated, and has yet to adapt to a more modern way of communication (chat threads, texting, etc.).

Solution
This project required a lot of research into what exactly a private branch exchange is, and how one typically functions. After thorough research there, and looking at some of the cloud PBX competitors, it was clear that none had created a sleek & modern looking interface for this purpose. I drew inspiration from the structural organization of chat heavy services like Microsoft Teams and Slack, and of course made a lot of updates to incorporate and prioritize functionality that was most important in a PBX.
