Client: Microsoft

Role: Lead UX

Online: www.transform.microsoft.com

Overview: Led the design from inception to delivery of a platform that allows the Microsoft sales team to quickly build presentations targeted for their specific client’s needs. This system allows Microsoft B2B sales people to do much less manual work in the creation of presentation assets. The impact has been a 81.5% time savings, which results in more sales presentations and more sales for Microsoft.

The Problem: For the Microsoft B2B sales team, putting together pitch decks and other presentation items is a manual process. It takes a lot of time, despite all of the slides and information existing in various places. The goal is to streamline this cumbersome process, into something that can be done in minutes rather than hours.

Research & Defining the Problem

Microsoft came to me with a straightforward ask; A way for the B2B sales team at Microsoft to easily pull different content together for a sales pitch or presentation, custom curated for their customer's needs (company size, industry, etc.). From this starting point, most of the projects true requirements were discovered through whiteboarding sessions with the project stakeholders. After gaining a full understanding of the problem and requirements, I conducted user interviews to learn more about their workflow and their personal needs for the end product.

Solution

The result of this project work is a tool that walks sales people through a simple questionaire about their customer before automatically assembling whichever customer assets are needed. This started with a pitch deck, but after initial delivery expanded to include proposals, letters, and other important sales content.
